Dear reader,

I want to offer a bit of clarification. Though this space seems perfectly organized in my mind, I imagine it appears less-than-structured to you.  So I offer some direction (though it may as well be noted that this blog has very little direction; it is essentially a writing space―the content, style and form depend entirely on my caffeine intake, my level of brooding, and whether or not I have yet gone outside for a walk).  Still, we might as well give organization a try, if only for the sake of appearances.

The categories and tags in this blog are much more thematic than they are content based.  First, there is

  • We’re starting out

It is just that: a starting point.  It originated, of course, as a title for the first of my posts on this site.  It encompasses more than that, however.  Any piece that circles round or delves into the subject of beginning will end up under this heading.

  • Location, location.

My mind is divided into two parts: one part devotes itself to language, foreign, formal or otherwise.  The other is consumed by movement; consumed by the desire to move through or cross over or sink into.  This category holds this writing.

  • Just letters.

As I mentioned previously, one part of my brain thrives on language.  The pieces posted here revolve around writing that expresses communication, language-learning, grammar curiosities and amusing, archaic words.   Here also you will find stories and poems that…well, that seem to fit here.

  • Have a look

This category holds the different collages I’ve put together.  Nothing stimulates pure, child-like imagination and creativity like scissors and a glue stick.

Now, armed with these enlightening descriptions of my blog categories, go forth! Read things! Look at things! And enjoy.
